Below are some noteworthy changes and additions that were made.

Chatroom Manager:

• Completely redesigned custom chat manager made to use JQuery.
• You can now add up to four channel names per chat room hosted.

Network Stats Api:

• Added daily stats (last 24 hours worth of 5 minute “live” snapshots)
• Added daily top searches (top 10)
• Added monthly stats since August 2010.

Chat Room List Api:

• Removed non-standard “WinMX” format for output. Both json and xml are still available.

Host Checker Api:

• This api has been completely retired and is no longer available for public use.

Hashcode Converter Api:

• Removed output of chat rooms matching the ip address derived from hashcode provided.

WinMX Magnet Links:

We also have added some information on how to encode and decode WinMX magnet links. For information on that click here.

Changes to the Chat Room List:

• Completely re-written to use JQuery instead of server side (php) processing.
• CSS re-done to be more efficient and the datatables script has been update (what makes it look cool).

Changes to the WinMX Network Stats:

• Pretty charts and graphs have been put in to replace the plain text layout that was there before.
• The program behind what tracks the WinMX network has been completely re-written from the ground up and uses ten times the amount of primary connections. This results in at least 99% of all network traffic being seen and provides a more accurate statistical breakdown of network information.
• Version 2 of the WinMX Stats api has also been released. This new version is linked to the new WinMX Network monitoring app and provides anyone with the same accurate information that we use here on our website.
• In addition to adding the charts, I also want to point out we have added the last 17 months of traffic monitoring data under “Historic Stats”.

Server Migration:

We are pleased to announce that if you see this post you are viewing the WinMXUnlimited website on the newer USA based server. Being on a dedicated server will improve website load time compared to the overloaded europe based vps we were on before.

Proxy Detection Service Issues:

We also want to bring to light some issues that the proxy detection service had earlier in the week. At least 100 users were falsely identified as a proxy server and banned from their respective chat rooms due to an issue with one of the proxy detection services we were testing. This service has been removed and all testing will be done on a non-live version of the service in the future. In light of these issues we have also improved the service, adding more than 30 new websites to scrape for proxies, resulting in over 30,000 unique proxy servers for pre-emptive detection alone. Tor blocking and the base method of detecting public proxy servers have also been improved.

• Proxy detector api detection output for public proxy servers has changed from “Live” to “Public”.

It automatically detects up to four different input formats, and can output the results in either JSON or XML. Unlike other hashcode converter services that may be out there, we include live wpn chat rooms that match the ip address of the hashcode you’re converting in the results.

July 26th:

Another update. The web room list has been moved to a new url and is now matching the overall web design styles, but the old one should be redirecting to the new page so don’t worry.

The update is now live and working as expected. You should not notice any changes except having virtually zero false positives in the future.
